Alaxo Stents for sleep apnea
The typical casue for sleep apnea is claimed to be the tongue falling back. However, this only applies to a small proportion of patients. In most cases, the soft palate and the upper pharyngeal walls suck together. Poor nasal breathing can be a cause of this.
The AlaxoLito Nasal Stents can be used for sleep apnea:
- to improve nasal breathing
- for CPAP users to counteract compression of the nasal alars by the CPAP mask and the frequent swelling of the turbinates during artificial ventilation and to keep the CPAP pressure lower.
The Alaxo Hybrid Stent provides continuous splinting of the nasal passage and nasopharynx in the area of the soft palate, thus optimizing the airway in all critical areas. This optimizes nasal breathing and prevents the symptom of sucking together at the site of airway obstruction (at the soft palate). The Alaxo Hybrid Stent is an AlaxoLito Plus Nasal Stent extended by an additional section that splints the soft palate.
Clinically tested
Clinical study results and many years of practical experience prove the high effectiveness of mechanical splinting for sleep apnea.
